I was reading a good article this morning from David Bowen of Lamb & Lion. He and I completely agree about what is happening today. God is following his normal procedure: He warns us, calls us to repent, and offers hope.
Our God and Father is incredibly wise, loving, and patient
If you know the Lord, you know what He has told you personally what He wants you to be doing now. He has personal instructions for each of us. If you are radically born again, He has given you everything you need, to do what He is asking you to do between now and when our fiancée comes to pick us up for the wedding.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, your hope is nearly gone. To be part of the Bride, the helpmate, of Yeshua Messiah you need to have experienced two things: a radical, life-changing rebirth, and a warm, close personal relationship with Yeshua Messiah [known in the Greek as Jesus Christ].
You may be saved, but not in the Bride
For example, the Bride is going to be delivered from the Wrath of God and the Lamb in what is commonly called the Rapture. But you must accept that fact by faith. Or, if you do not have a close personal relationship with Yeshua Messiah, it is possible you may simply not hear the trumpet blast or the voice of the Lord calling you to join Him in the clouds.
Neither of these conditions mean you are not saved. But they might mean you are not part of the Bride.
The Lord is merciful, but read Matthew 7:
21 “Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’
I’ve written a book on this called, The Wife of Jesus. It covers this whole concept of the Bride in extensive Biblical detail.
For today, a warning with hope
If you’re not sure, the problem is easy to fix. Get in a quiet place, and speak out loud, “Jesus, this crazy old man told me that if I start by asking you to show me all my sin, you will guide me through rebirth and establishing a relationship with you. I want that, but I need your approval of the suggested process.” The exact wording is up to you. But be assured, Jesus is waiting for you to ask. That’s why He died for you.
David, this was a timely and sobering word—thank you for the bold reminder. It stirred something deep, reminding me that God doesn’t just call us to comfort, but to readiness and relationship. Like you said, He’s warned us, He’s wooing us, and He’s offering hope.
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.” —Revelation 19:7 (NIV)
May we be a people who stay watchful and willing. Appreciate your heart and faithfulness in sounding the alarm with truth and grace.
AMEN!!!
